British Flowers Week is a special annual event. It’s all about celebrating the beautiful seasonal flowers that come from Britain and the amazing people who grow and design them. These days, there’s a growing love for seasonal things.
Also, there’s an economic need to help local industries. Because of this, British flower growers and floral designers are at an important turning point. They’re making the flower sector more friendly to the environment and more creative.
Since 2024, a trade association called Flowers from the Farm has been leading British Flowers Week. The goal of this event is to support the sustainability of seasonal flowers. It also aims to highlight the important economic role this industry plays. They’re doing it with new ideas and lots of energy.
The 2025 British Flowers Week will take place from Monday, June 16, to Sunday, June 22. When you buy British flowers, it helps create jobs. It also helps local communities grow.
More and more people are seeing it as a better choice than buying flowers that are grown in factories and imported from other places. Many of these British growers use agroecological methods.
This means they think about the whole farming system, from the soil to when people buy the flowers. And when flowers are grown in Britain, it cuts down on the amount of carbon released into the air.
The 2025 campaign of British Flowers Week wants the public to get to know a growing group of growers, designers, and retailers. They’re all at the forefront of the British cut flower industry.
Along with taking charge of British Flowers Week, Flowers from the Farm has chosen two very important people in flower farming to be joint external chairs.
Georgie Newbery is a farmer – florist from Somerset. She’s a pioneer in the field. She built Common Farm Flowers, and it’s now one of the most well – known names in British cut flowers. Kim Fleming is the person behind Marlston Farm Girl in Berkshire. She’s great at business and is very enthusiastic about connecting flower farmers with bigger markets.
Both Georgie and Kim are big names in the British cut flower industry. They’ll bring a special mix of experience, creativity, and business knowledge to the board. They’ll work hard to promote British – grown flowers all across the country.
