Downtown Alpena will burst into vibrant colors from June 6-8 during the third-annual Alpena Flower Festival, showcasing more than 35 stunning floral installations crafted by local florists and supported by area businesses.
The festival transforms key locations—including the Center Building, Bay View Park, and Thunder Bay Arts Gallery—into immersive gardens filled with interactive and photo-worthy floral art.
This year’s event kicks off early on June 5 with the Petal Pub Crawl, a fun way to explore downtown while engaging in a flower-themed poker-run game.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can enjoy a variety of flower-centric activities: from building custom bouquets at local florist bars to children’s gardening workshops hosted by the Alpena Garden Club.
The festival also features unique floral crafts like natural plant dyeing and flower pounding workshops, allowing attendees to create personalized floral art.
The Flower Fest 5K Run/Walk invites participants to experience the floral installations up close, while Sunday’s Flower Fest Bike & Pedestrian Parade encourages everyone to dress in floral attire and decorate their rides in celebration of nature’s beauty.
With its record number of floral displays and engaging flower-themed events, the Alpena Flower Festival offers a blooming celebration for all ages, highlighting the community’s creativity and love for plants and flowers.
