Uber Eats Makes Sending Mother’s Day Flowers A Breeze

by Anna

Uber Technologies, Inc. and 1-800-Flowers.com, Inc. have good news for you! They’ve decided to work together even more closely. Now, you can order flowers and gifts on the Uber Eats app just in time for Mother’s Day.

1-800-Flowers.com is really big in the flower business. They think they’ll deliver over 17.8 million flower stems during the Mother’s Day holiday. It’s also one of the top online retailers in North America.

It ranks 60th in Digital Commerce 360’s Top 2000 list, and it’s in the Flowers & Gifts category. Experts predict that 1-800-Flowers.com’s online sales will reach $1.53 billion in 2025.

Uber Eats said in a news statement that this new partnership builds on an existing one they have through Uber Direct. Uber Direct already delivers flower orders from 1-800-Flowers.com on the same day.

In some areas, customers can look at offerings from more than 300 local florists that work with 1-800-Flowers.com. On the Uber Eats app, they can pick from a special selection of flower bouquets and gifts. You can choose to have them delivered right away or schedule the delivery for later. By this summer, the companies hope to have over 500 locations on the app.

Jon Feldman, the president of BloomNet at 1-800-Flowers.com, said, “We always want to make people happy, and this new partnership with Uber Eats helps us do that. With Mother’s Day coming soon, we’re excited to make it easier for people to celebrate the important women in their lives with beautiful, high – quality flowers that get delivered fast and safely.”

Uber Eats is really proud of this partnership because it makes things easier for customers.

Hashim Amin, who’s in charge of grocery and retail at Uber in North America, said, “Whether you plan ahead or decide to send something special at the last minute, Uber Eats is here to make giving gifts easier than ever. We’re very happy to build on our relationship with 1-800-Flowers and give customers more ways to show they care, starting with this Mother’s Day.”

Uber Eats also announced another partnership this week. This time, it’s with Family Dollar for deliveries. Uber Eats isn’t just about food anymore. In the past year, it has made deals with stores like Michaels and Home Depot.

A 2024 survey asked 1,000 shoppers some questions. It found that Gen Z is the only group that cares more about how fast something gets delivered than how much it costs. Gen Z was also the most likely to choose one – or two – day delivery, with 41% of them picking that option. And 38% said they like using same – day delivery.

That’s probably why services like DoorDash, Instacart, and Uber Eats have been teaming up with more and more partners in the past year.
