Colombia emerged as the leading supplier, exporting 65.8 tonnes of flowers, surpassing the Netherlands, which had been the primary source in previous years .
Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 176.1 tonnes of cut flowers and buds in 2024, valued at $1.2 million, marking a significant increase from 83.7 tonnes worth $651,400 in 2023 .
The most expensive imports came from Poland, South Africa, and Colombia, with average prices per tonne at $28,000, $14,500, and $7,400, respectively .
This upward trend in flower imports indicates a flourishing floral market in Kyrgyzstan, driven by changing consumer preferences and increased demand for ornamental plants.
