The RHS Chelsea Flower Show, a prestigious event with over a century of history held at the Royal Hospital in London, opened its doors to the general public from Thursday to Saturday after an exclusive preview for the King and Queen, as well as RHS members. This renowned flower show attracts numerous UK nurseries, breeders, landscapers, and florists, and is listed fifth on Kuoni’s 2024 list of the world’s unmissable travel experiences, with up to 168,000 visitors expected annually.
On Monday, King Charles III and Queen Camilla made their annual visit to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Their Majesties toured several gardens, stands, and exhibits, including those of Raymond Evison Clematis, David Austin Roses, Harkness Roses, and The Farewell Flowers Directory.
David Austin Roses unveiled a new variety named “The King’s Rose” in support of the King’s Foundation. Harkness Roses showcased their Rosa “Catherine’s Rose,” a new variety honoring the Princess of Wales. At the Highgrove Shop stand, the King met David Beckham, who serves as an ambassador for The King’s Foundation. Meanwhile, the Queen explored the first-ever funeral floristry exhibit in the show’s 112-year history, designed by The Farewell Flowers Directory.
