The IPPC Secretariat has recently announced the launch of a new e-learning course titled “Mobilizing Resources for Plant Health,” which is now available on the IPPC Plant Health Campus. This self-paced course aims to support plant health professionals, particularly those working within National Plant Protection Organizations (NPPOs), by enhancing their understanding of the importance of resource mobilization, with a focus on sustainable financing and partnerships.
Course Overview
This course is part of the expanding library of certified e-learning resources developed by the IPPC Secretariat in collaboration with the FAO e-learning Academy. The IPPC Plant Health Campus is a free, multilingual platform that offers a wide range of e-learning courses, guides, and tools accessible to all interested individuals. The course is designed for NPPO staff, especially heads of NPPOs, decision-makers, managers, and supervisors. However, it may also be of interest to phytosanitary capacity evaluation (PCE) facilitators and coordinators, NPPO stakeholders, and partners.
Course Objectives
The primary goal of this course is to help NPPOs grasp the importance of resource mobilization and improve their capacity to secure funds through sustainable financing and partnerships. It explores various internal and external funding options available to NPPOs and provides strategies for effectively engaging with potential partners.
What You Will Learn
Participants will gain insights into the critical role of resource mobilization in organizational success. The curriculum includes a comprehensive five-step approach to resource mobilization developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Additionally, the course covers strategies for building successful long-term relationships with resource partners and highlights the importance of fostering these connections. It also examines a range of funding options available to NPPOs and provides guidance on how to effectively engage with potential partners to enhance funding opportunities and ensure sustainable support for plant health initiatives.
