“I used to just smash the lawn mower into the tall grass and pray to the lawn gods,” Black Lotus Gardening explained. However, after gaining more experience, they discovered a more efficient method: mowing the lawn twice. “First, adjust the mower to a higher setting to trim the grass down a bit, and then lower the blades to the desired height for a final cut,” they demonstrated in the video.
The gardener further elaborated, “It’s a bonus if you edge-trim in between the two mowing passes, as it makes it easier to see and catch the edges during the second run-through.” This method ensures a more even and efficient cut.
