From June 10 to 13, Walter Blom Plants will showcase three new cultivars at the FlowerTrials. These new varieties are Hemerocallis ‘Stella’, Verbascum ‘Peach Champagne’, and Polemonium ‘Violet Eye’. The introductions coincide with the company’s 15th anniversary. Over the past 15 years, Walter Blom Plants has grown into a specialist in perennials and shrubs. The company focuses on tissue culture, plugs, and (unrooted) cuttings.
The new cultivars are notable for their flowering power, ease of cultivation, and strong commercial potential.
Hemerocallis ‘Stella’ is a compact daylily. It grows to approximately 35 centimeters and has continuous flowering from May to October. The flowers come in three vibrant colors. This cultivar is ideal for container production and can thrive under variable climate conditions.
Verbascum ‘Peach Champagne’ has peach-colored flower spikes with a soft pink heart. It is fast-growing and requires minimal input. It reaches maturity in 10 to 12 weeks and is guaranteed to bloom 100%.
Polemonium ‘Violet Eye’ features finely feathered lilac-toned foliage and crisp white flowers with a striking violet center. It blooms early and profusely. It is also mildew-resistant and reliably hardy.
Walter Blom Plants will exhibit at Kolster’s location at Rijneveld 122a, Boskoop. The company will exhibit alongside Kolster and HOKO Breeding. Visitors are welcome to attend. Registration is free. If you are interested in attending, you can register at the link here.
