To celebrate spring, New Yorkers can enjoy a vibrant floral installation and receive free flowers at the Union Square subway station in Manhattan.
Renowned florist Lewis Miller, known as the “Banksy of Floral Design,” teamed up with Zyrtec to create “Flower Flash,” a guerilla-style floral art display that transforms urban spaces with bursts of colorful blooms.
On Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., commuters passing through the Union Square entrance at 16th Street and Union Square West can take home a complimentary flower amid the stunning installation.
The event features thousands of fresh flowers, including chrysanthemums, arranged in Miller’s signature spontaneous style that has brightened city streets since 2016.
Miller’s Flower Flashes repurpose flowers from other events, turning everyday city objects like trash cans and street signs into unexpected gardens. These installations bring nature’s beauty into the urban environment, offering a moment of joy and color to busy commuters.
This free flower giveaway continues Miller’s mission to make floral art accessible to all, celebrating the season with blooms that brighten both the subway station and the spirits of New Yorkers.
