On Saturday, the Skagit County Master Gardener Foundation hosted its 31st annual Plant Fair at the Skagit County Fairgrounds, drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd of gardening lovers from across the region.
The event was bustling from morning until afternoon, with both the north and south entrances crowded with cars and visitors eager to explore the wide variety of plants and gardening supplies on offer.
Gardeners of all ages and experience levels came together to share their passion for plants, exchange tips, and purchase flowers, vegetables, shrubs, and gardening tools. The fair has become a beloved community tradition, providing a space where both beginners and expert gardeners can connect and learn.
Proceeds from the Plant Fair will support the Master Gardener Foundation’s educational outreach programs, which aim to teach the public about sustainable gardening practices and environmental stewardship.
Additionally, funds will help maintain and improve the public display garden located at the Skagit County Extension’s Memorial Highway campus, a popular spot for visitors to see beautiful garden designs and learn new gardening techniques.
This year’s Plant Fair proved once again that gardening is more than just a hobby-it’s a way to bring the community together and promote a greener, healthier environment for all.
