Orchids are renowned for their stunning beauty and captivating fragrance, but they can be tricky to care for. One passionate gardener, however, uncovered a valuable tip from an online community that transformed her orchid care routine.
She discovered that fertilizing orchids with banana-infused water could lead to a burst of blooms. After trying it herself, she reported significant success, with her orchids producing multiple new flower stems.
Her experience inspired others in the Orchids Tips and Tricks Facebook group to share their own positive results with banana peel water.
But there’s another natural alternative that some gardeners claim works even better: garlic water.
One group member revealed that garlic water outperformed banana water, resulting in more roots and blooms for their orchids. Garlic is rich in phosphorus and potassium, which not only promote plant health and growth but also deter pests.
To make garlic water, simply peel, crush, or chop a few cloves and let them soak in water for at least 24 hours, though waiting two to three days can yield a more potent mixture. However, it’s important to use it in moderation, as over-application can harm the plants.
