ScottsMiracle-Gro has partnered with ProAmpac to launch kerbside recyclable bags designed specifically for gardening products.
These new PRO-EVO SOS Bags replace traditional multilayer plastic films with fiber-based materials, making them easier for eco-conscious gardeners to dispose of in standard paper recycling bins.
This packaging innovation aligns with ScottsMiracle-Gro’s commitment to sustainability and supports the needs of plant lovers seeking greener solutions.
“The transition to PRO-EVO Recyclable Bags has been smooth and successful,” shared Ray Severa, packaging engineer at ScottsMiracle-Gro. “These bags run efficiently, are durable, and support our goal of environmentally responsible packaging.”
According to Hesam Tabatabaei, senior vice president at ProAmpac, the new bags not only preserve product quality but also enhance brand presentation with strong moisture protection—vital for soil, seeds, and plant nutrients.
The initiative follows a broader industry trend where brands such as Tesco, Zespri, and KIND Snacks have also adopted recyclable packaging to reduce environmental impact, reflecting growing demand among consumers who care for both their plants and the planet.
