The Netherlands Welcomes The World During Greentech Week

From June 10 to 12, the Netherlands will host thousands of international visitors at the RAI Amsterdam for the GreenTech event. This week-long gathering is set to highlight the Netherlands’ position as a global leader in future-proof horticulture. The event will feature a series of activities aimed at demonstrating how Dutch horticulture is addressing global challenges and fostering international connections.

International Delegations Gather in the Netherlands

During week 24, the Netherlands will welcome delegations from around the world, including the Middle East, Asia, the Americas, and Africa. These delegations will consist of growers, AgTech entrepreneurs, investors, high-level government officials, and policymakers. Starting on Monday, June 9, these international visitors will engage with the innovative Dutch horticulture sector through tailored programs that explore various aspects of the Dutch ecosystem, from greenhouses to supermarkets, universities, and GreenTech, the Netherlands’ largest horticultural exhibition with over 550 exhibitors.

Strategic Trade Fair Program

Public and private partners are collaborating to present an impressive lineup of activities designed to foster long-term collaborations, create new business opportunities, and reinforce the Netherlands’ global standing as a leader in sustainable horticulture. These activities are part of the Strategic Trade Fair Program, initiated by Top Sector Horticulture & Starting Materials and AVAG, and carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), the Municipality of Westland, Dutch Greenhouse Delta, GreenTech, and the World Horti Center.

Tuesday, June 10, 10:15 – 11:00: Remarkable Trends in AI & Robotics (Vision Stage, GreenTech)
This session will explore the shift from automation to true intelligence, delving into the promise and challenges of AI. Speakers will include Carlo van de Weijer from the Eindhoven AI Systems Institute, Suzanne Verboon from NXTGEN, Erik Pekkeriet from Wageningen University, and representatives from Koppert, discussing the latest developments in greenhouse robotization and AI.

Tuesday, June 10, 11:00 – 12:00: Global Food Security: Sustainable Collaborations by the Netherlands (Vision Stage, GreenTech)
This session will highlight how international collaboration can drive sustainable solutions for global food security. Speakers will include Jan Kees Goet from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature, Rien Komen from Aeres, Richard Harrison from WUR, and Annie van de Riet from AVAG.

Dutch organizations are invited to meet international delegations during a networking lunch in the NL Lounge.

Wednesday, June 11, 15:00 – 18:00: NL Summit (Vision Stage, GreenTech)
This summit will focus on the future of horticulture, driven by sustainability and innovation. Growers will present their solutions and questions related to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), comparing experiences across borders and exploring future needs.

Field Visits and Knowledge Sessions

Throughout the week, partners of the Strategic Trade Fair Program will host a variety of activities across the Netherlands. Visitors can participate in field visits to leading Dutch horticultural companies, explore the Flower Trials, or visit the World Horti Center. At GreenTech, guided tours and a range of inspiring knowledge sessions will offer additional opportunities for connection and learning.

The GreenTech week is expected to be a significant platform for international collaboration and innovation in the horticulture sector, showcasing the Netherlands’ commitment to sustainable and future-proof horticulture.
