The University of Florida IFAS Extension (UF) is offering its acclaimed Nutrient Management Level 1 course as part of the Greenhouse Online Training program. This course is designed to equip participants with essential knowledge on fertilizer management, a critical component of successful crop production.
Over the past decade, more than 1,100 growers from around the world have completed this course, receiving a certificate of completion from UF. The course boasts a high graduation rate of 87% last year and has been rated 4.5 out of 5 by participants.
Course Overview
Nutrient Management Level 1 is tailored for individuals with some prior experience or entry-level university education. It is particularly suited for those involved in production, technical, or sales roles related to greenhouse and nursery crops. The course covers a range of topics, including common nutrient problems, essential nutrients, fertilizer types, growing media, and testing methods (soil, nutrient solution, and tissue).
Course Details
The course will be conducted in both English and Spanish and will run for four weeks, from July 7 to August 1, 2025. The registration fee is $285 per participant. All course materials are available online 24/7 and include pre-recorded videos, quizzes, and an interactive discussion board moderated by Dr. Paul Fisher, a UF professor with a PhD.
The course is structured into eight learning modules, with two new modules released each week. Participants can complete the course at their own pace within the four-week period, with an estimated time commitment of approximately six hours per week.
