WPS has announced the appointment of Drew Johnson as the Business Development Director for North America. Johnson brings over 20 years of industry experience to his new role.
Based in Vancouver, Johnson’s hiring follows WPS’s significant growth in North America in recent years. This growth was most recently highlighted by the company’s contract to provide the first delivery system to Spring Meadow Nursery in Michigan. The move signifies WPS’s commitment to establishing a local presence in the North American market. Known for its customizable automation systems, WPS aims to meet the increasing demand for efficiency and productivity in commercial greenhouses across the U.S. and Canada.
“Drew’s reputation in the industry speaks for itself,” said Conré Oostrom, CEO of WPS. “His deep understanding of grower needs, technical expertise, and long-standing relationships throughout the horticulture sector make him the ideal person to lead our growth in North America. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team.”
“I’m excited to begin this new chapter with the innovative and talented team at WPS,” said Johnson. “I’m deeply grateful for the invaluable experiences and opportunities that have shaped my career, especially working closely with North American growers. I understand their high expectations for support, and my commitment is to not only meet but ultimately surpass those standards. WPS’s compelling vision and advanced logistic and sorting solutions are clearly resonating with growers. I’m eager to leverage my previous experience to strengthen support in North America and accelerate new growth.”
