Dutch train operator NS has announced a strike scheduled for Tuesday, June 10, which will impact transportation in Western Netherlands, including the Amsterdam area. This comes at an inconvenient time as both the GreenTech event and the FlowerTrials are set to commence at the RAI Convention Centre in Amsterdam on the same morning.
During the strike, train services between Amsterdam Central Station and Schiphol Airport will be significantly reduced, with only four trains running per hour. However, the Amsterdam Metro system will remain unaffected. Metro line 52 and Tram 4, which both stop directly in front of the RAI Convention Centre, will continue to operate, providing attendees with an alternative means of reaching the city center.
It is worth noting that train services have already been disrupted today, Friday. Additionally, a separate strike is planned for Thursday, June 13, but this will only affect the Eastern Netherlands and is not expected to impact train travel in and around Amsterdam.
Travelers attending GreenTech or visiting Amsterdam next week are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and consider alternative transport options to minimize inconvenience.
