At the Flower Logistics Africa 2025 conference in Nairobi, the pulse of the global flower export industry was more vibrant than ever. Moderated by Reji John, Editor of Logistics Update Africa, a panel discussion featuring growers, exporters, airlines, airports, and logistics experts delved into one of the most crucial components of the floral supply chain: airfreight.

The conversation tackled a range of pressing issues, from the soaring airfreight rates and limited capacity during peak periods like Valentine’s Day, to the potential of digital transformation and the emergence of new markets in the Middle East and Asia.

Industry leaders such as Clement Tulezi of the Kenya Flower Council, Jacob Bwana of the Kenya Airports Authority, Patricia Odida of Astral Aviation, Sam Quintelier of Brussels Airport, Elizabeth Kimani of Sian Flowers, Claris Wanjohi of Wafex, and Eliud Njenga of Credible Blooms shared their insights on the challenges and opportunities of transporting millions of flowers across continents quickly, fresh, and in full bloom.
