The Woodland Realm urban garden in Des Moines is set to expand in 2025 with more crops and community events.
After overcoming challenges with city regulations, Ryan and Erik Francois have cultivated a thriving space that includes mushrooms, vegetables, fruits, and medicinal herbs.
The garden, built with reclaimed materials, has become a hub for neighbors and visitors who enjoy its workshops and gatherings.
This spring and summer, the garden will host monthly workshops on sustainable gardening, herbology, and more.
The highlight will be the “IngerSolstice” block party in June, welcoming everyone to celebrate the longest day of the year.
